CHITTAGONG–Bangladesh Nari Progati Sangha (BNPS) demanded the full implementation of National Women Development Policy to achieve women’s development, equal rights and equal dignity during forming a rally and in a discussion on Begum Rokeya Day in Chittagong on 9 December. Discussion in DC Hill premises before starting the rally all speakers gave their speech. They told that National Women Development Policy 2011 had been proclaimed but implementation of that policy would yet to be done. Our women in the country were still neglected mercilessly. Speakers demanded full implementation of the policy and secured women friendly environments in all educational institution and work place. Besides, various demand including amendment of all laws on female discrimination making national budget and policies, creating women friendly and gender based environment, Providing recognition of female’s basic human rights as a citizen to ensure female empowerment and equality, Promoting awareness on news got from the radio, TV and newspaper about reproductive health including women’s equality base issues in school-level text book, Measure to prevent drop out of girl child from the school were raised in the program before rally on behalf of the organization. Mr.Ferdous Ahmed, Manager of BNPS Chittagong center, Mr. Sharif Chowhan, District Coordinator, Mr. Ershadul Karim, Development Officer Mr. Kumkum Datta and others spoke this discussion. Afterwards, a well-organized rally on Rokeya day passed some roads of the city.
